CLARK COUNTY, Ind.—Indiana Department of Transportation personnel met with Clark County officials, contractor representatives, design engineers and onsite supervisors at Seymour District offices last week to launch a $3,419,380 Local Public Agency (LPA) construction project that will build a 1.31-mile section of Bethany Road at Charlestown.
Milestone, contractor for this LPA project sponsored by Clark County, plans to begin operations on June 25—completely reconstructing Bethany Road in five phases from State Road 62 north to High Jackson Road.
A detour will route motorists around Bethany Road construction via S.R. 62, Salem Noble Road and Old S.R. 403. Bethany Road access for local traffic will be maintained.
The contract’s completion date is September 28, 2019.
100 percent of LPA project funding comes from the Federal Highway Administration ((FHWA). The Indiana Department of Transportation administers these FHWA dollars and oversees the project to assure compliance with federal standards. Lochmueller Group produced engineering plans. DLZ, an engineering consultant, is charged with providing day-to-day onsite supervision.
