You can spend a lot of money on festival or concert tickets this summer to hear some great live music – but there’s still something to be said for the top notch local acts you’ll find headlining events like Charlestown’s Founder’s Day. This year’s lineup is as promising as anything you’ll find on Jeff’s Riverstage or even across the river at Waterfront Wednesday. Combine these quality professional acts with the hometown vibe of the Charlestown square – in your neighborhood and with people you know – for a trifecta of weekend excitement.
On Friday enjoy arts and crafts booths beginning at 3:00 p.m. with over 60 vendors.
Locals Dalton Hester and Josiah Richardson kick things off early on Friday with music starting at 5:00 p.m. – catch the Scaliwags at 6:15, and then hang around for more as the Louisville Crashers take the stage at 8 p.m. and keep things rocking through 11. To call the Crasher’s everyone’s favorite “local band” would be a gross understatement – these guys have the talent and style to be touring major venues. Kentuckiana residents are lucky to have them, and on Friday they’ll be rocking Charlestown. Stay on your toes and you just might catch frontman Mark Maxwell as he makes his way through the audience. Sing along or be serenaded, but either way you’re guaranteed a world-class show in a hometown setting.
We’ll see you tomorrow night! 🤟🏻
