What’s Happening – July 13th – 15th: Clark County 4-H Fair, New Washington Fireman’s Picnic this weekend (and more)…

It’s looking to be a busy but fun weekend for many. There’s no shortage of things to do in our area, and the weather looks great (but hot!) – have a safe and fun weekend!

Friday, July 13th – Sunday, July 15th

STARTING FRIDAY: The Clark County 4-H Fair kicks off this Friday, July 13th. A printable schedule of daily activities is available here.

FRIDAY: Movies in the Park Presents CoCo! Join the Charlestown Parks Department for an outdoor screening of this new children’s favorite. Concessions open at 7, with showtime at 9:30.

FRIDAY & SATURDAY: The New Washington Volunteer Fire Department Annual Fireman’s Picnic is this Friday and Saturday. A K-9 Search and Rescue demonstration will be held Friday evening from 6:30 – 8pm. Things kick off Saturday with the parade at 11 (lineup at 10)! There will be a “Kids Firefighter Challenge” event at 2, and an Air Methods Helicopter demonstration at 4. There will be a $10 fish dinner, ham sandwiches, burgers, pies, cakes and more. Follow their Facebook page for more info and announcements.

SATURDAY: Going Country for Kosair with Honkywood. 8:00 pm at Bucky’s Grill and Pub in New Washington, to benefit Kosair charities. More info.

SATURDAY: Midnight Radio rocks Summer’s on the River this weekend: more info.

SUNDAY: Charlestown State Park will hold a Kayak Tryout event on Sunday at 10am. Have you ever wanted to go kayaking but afraid to try? Maybe you’re not sure if you are ready to invest in one before trying it. Here is your chance to try your water legs in 14 Mile Creek. We will have a limited number of kayaks and gear for you to try out. Meet at the Portersville Bridge at Rose Island. See their Facebook page for more information.

SUNDAY: Fish Art at Charlestown State Park – fun art pieces with a fishy theme! Starts at noon. Great for all ages, at the Nature Nook located in the Park Office.

SUNDAY: 2018 Annual Farmer’s Appreciation Celebration, 4-6 pm at the Clark Co. Fairgrounds. More info.

Looking to step out of the nearby local area a bit?
