The Washington County Sheep Association in cooperation with the Indiana Sheep Association and Purdue Extension is hosting a Sheep Tour at the Southern Indiana Purdue Ag. Center (11367 E. Purdue Farm Rd., Dubois, IN 47527) on Saturday, August 25, 2018 beginning with a lunch and fellowship at 12:00 pm and the tour starting at approx. 1:00 pm. Dr. Mike Neary, Purdue Extension Sheep Specialist, and Jason Tower, SIPAC Superintendent, will lead the tour to discuss the newly acquired flock of Katahdin hair sheep. Topics will include general sheep production practices, forage/grazing management, and Purdue’s plans for the future of the flock.
Please join us for lunch, education, and fellowship. The tour is free and all sheep producers are encouraged to attend. Dress for the farm and weather. Wagons will be utilized during the tour to move participants from one location to the next.
