Growler USA is in the final stages of construction and development, and is expected to open in December of this year in Jeffersonville on Highway 62 just outside of Charlestown.

by Leah Lowe | Craft beer fans, Merry Christmas. Opening in December, Growler USA will bring at least 100 taps to the booming Jeffersonville area – just outside of Charlestown. Located at 3010 Gottbrath Parkway, the best part is – coming from Charlestown…you won’t have to drive the roundabout to get there.

Growler USA is a Colorado-based franchise with roughly 22 other locations currently open nation-wide. These numbers are growing, but this operation is anything but a chain. The Jeffersonville location marks the franchise’s first in the Midwest.

Locals Greg and Laura Brown of Charlestown have a solid business background and plan to bring their investment to life with attention to detail and a hearty dose of local flavor.

It’s not all about the beer, Greg will tell you. Food is just as much a focus as they work to develop their menu – which will feature high quality traditional pub fare, as well as a rotating menu of seasonally and regionally fitting flavors. One of the great things about this franchise, he believes, is the ability to localize the brand and make it unique – a natural part of your community.

A 43 foot bar will be home to 100 taps and 5-7 televisions. One. Hundred. Taps.

The 4,000 square foot development will boast an impressive 43 foot bar with 100 taps situated under a line of flat-screen TV’s. A separate dining area is also home to two large bay doors that roll up to allow for an open-air feel, leading to an outside patio area with ample seating and two fire pits. Greg Brown envisions a “hibachi grill style” communal feel to the fire pit areas – a place where people can gather and chat, meet new people – or as is so often the case in our area, bump into old friends. The aesthetic is comfortable and welcoming, even while under construction.

Have you ever seen a 100 keg tap room? You can here, through a special window on the side of the room that gives a peek at the elaborate operation behind the tap wall. An overhead handling system helps bar staff to quickly and safely change out the kegs.

The Bridgepointe Commons area of the Interstate 265 and Highway 62 corridor will also host the new Xcape Theatre, an assisted living facility, and potentially other larger retail operations. Development in the area is ongoing, and there’s no question that growth in this area is booming.

Growler USA plans to hire around 25 employees – several have already signed on, but they are looking for more. Please visit (and like) their Facebook page to send them a message for more information.
