Jeffersonville, Ind. – In honor of Wayne Estopinal’s life, the City of Jeffersonville will turn the lights at Big Four Station purple and gold starting Friday night, December 7th through Monday night, December 10th.
Wayne was avid soccer fan and very involved in the soccer community. He was the founder of Louisville City FC and was a minority owner of Orlando City Soccer Club. Purple and gold are the colors of both teams.
Wayne founded TEG Architects and the internationally known firm was headquartered in Jeffersonville on Spring Street. Some of his most notable projects in the city include, Big Four Station, Jeffersonville City Hall, Jeffersonville Police Station, and the YMCA of Jeffersonville.
Mayor Mike Moore contacted the Louisville Waterfront Development Corporation, which controls the Big Four Bridge. As part of the tribute to Wayne, the lights on the Big Four Bridge will also be purple and gold during the same period.
Wayne will be laid to rest on Monday, December 10 at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 315 E. Chestnut Street, with burial to follow.
