Hi! My name is DeAsia King and I am a sophomore at the University of Louisville. For the second year in a row, I will be participating in UofL’s largest student-run philanthropic organization, the raiseRED Dance Marathon. I will be dancing for 18 hours straight to raise funds and awareness for pediatric cancer and blood disease.

In the last 5 years, this organization has raised over 2.6 million dollars for the cause. Every penny goes towards research and clinical use. This cause is extremely important to me because many family and friends have been impacted by cancer and also, I’m in school to pursue a career as a pediatric oncologist.

This year, I will be participating as a Team Leader and my goal is to raise $600 but I am hoping to surpass that since every penny is FTK – for the kids! I’m super passionate about this and I want others to become passionate about it too.

Any amount of donation is extremely appreciated, and is going directly to the fight to find a cure. Plus, it’s super easy to donate! It can directly be done through my page: https://elevate.louisville.edu/project/17113. You will just hit “Pledge Support”, chose your amount and customize your donation.

Let’s help give these children their childhood back! If you have any questions about raiseRED or how to donate, contact me, DeAsia King via email (deasia5100@gmail.com) or call/text me at (502)294-9765.
